Historic Decatur "Country House"

Built in the 1880’s for Dr. King and his family (not THAT Dr. King), this house was a “county house” for an early chemist who worked with the Coca-Cola family to develop the famous “secret ingredient” in Coke.

Fast forward 140 years and a new family bought this classic farmhouse. The idea was to preserve and re-establish the home’s unique history. Our work stabilized the front porch, with new decking and railings. We also designed a new screen porch addition off the back of the house. The new porch was to match existing architectural detailing of the main house, and is now our clients favorite space.

The porch has a large walk up deck, and included new landscaping of the entire site.

The house is ready for its next 100 years.
