The Process of Architecture

Small batch…
Custom…
Tailored…
Unique

None of these words are lost on the design team at Alan Phillip Clark Architects, LLC.

Each one of our projects is different, and meet the challenges of our clients budget, site, and program. To put a fine point on it….our drawing sets and designs represent the drive and desire to fulfill our client’s vision. For most people their home is their largest investment, and that value is realized and important to our work.

Located in Atlanta, Alan Phillip Clark Architects, LLC is a client focused, design-centric, thoughtful small firm. As a registered architect for over 8 years with almost 20 years of design, documentation, and practical building construction experience, the firm delights in tailored design projects, and enjoys the collaboration from initial design through the entire construction process.

For a small architecture design focused firm, the company has clients and projects ranging from new home designs, including major renovations and additions, to restaurants and multifamily buildings all over the south.

The architectural process employed by the firm uses the time honored process of architectural design…and always starts with the hand sketch.

Immediate and clear, early conceptual drawings help define and give inspiration to the final result. Primal drawings are produced with skill and honed to precision. Later construction drawings are based off computer drawings, and three dimensional measurements and modeling are offered for the complete range of services.

The firm focuses on traditionally detailed custom home projects, with a unique ability to handle and understand the needs of renovations to existing structures. As the past Chairman for the City of Decatur’s Historic Preservation Commission, Alan is able to access the history of architecture by noting precedent design inspiration. Often times this “precedent” work is pulled from his extensive architectural history design library.

The firms unusual approach honors the history of architecture, while embracing and understanding the modern world.
